Asked by Entertainment Tonight about a new side to her character, Julianna Marguiles said this week:

First, there was that sexy poster of Alicia, breathless and in negligee. Then, on Sunday, Sept. 4, the network will air The Good Wife: A New Beginning (9:30/8:30c), a catch-up special aimed at bringing new viewers up to speed in under a half-hour.If all that wasn't enough, on Friday CBS released its first-ever digital magazine for the most ardent Good Wife fan. The magazine serves as a companion to Sunday's special with several bonuses, including a sneak peek at the new season, never-before-seen pictures of and quotes from the cast, and additional catch-up footage highlighting key story arcs for the casual viewer.
